Designed to the highest green credentials, it carbon neutral build supports East Midlands Airport’s aspiration for its ground operations to be carbon neutral by 2012.

The design of the new hotel reflects the theme of aviation, as well as providing references to the nearby National Forest. The theme of aviation is most obviously reflected in two, five storey striking aluminium clad ‘wings’ and the hotel’s entrance canopy.

• Environmental credentials Pre-Assessment rating currently rates the hotel as ‘Excellent’.
• Construction rating for Energy Performance Certificate rates the hotel as ‘A+’ powered and heated by a tri-generation combined heat and power plant (CHP)
