Building trust in a local community

When Stoke on Trent College of Further Education got in touch about its multimillion-pound campus renewal project, we knew this was a project right up our street.

Much stakeholder mapping later, we had built a clear picture of local influencers, as well as understanding the lay of the land in terms of community impact. We developed an integrated communications strategy with tactics tailored to each audience – from one-to-one briefings with councillors and MPs to press announcements, community open days and public meetings.

Pride of place was the ‘Park Life’ campaign name, reflecting the college’s plans to breathe new life into an old Victorian park alongside the college. The campaign ran for over three years, with new elements added as the college revealed its ambitious plans to create a learning environment fit for the 21st century.

It’s one of our favourite campaigns and it’s one we look back on with great pride for its effectiveness and beauty.
