More acts revealed for Splendour 2020
We love handling the festival PR for Nottingham’s number one music festival Splendour. Over the years we’ve learnt so much about what the media need and want.
Grabbing the attention of the press ahead of an annual music festival is all about feeding them with a drip/drip of information. But on occasion, you just have to let rip and do a big reveal, as with our announcement about the headliners at Splendour.
With artists including The Vamps, Rick Astley, Sleeper, Becky Hill, Supergrass, James and Belinda Carlisle, you can understand the excitement. Our team works with the press office representing each artist to gather background information and approved press images. We then craft the announcement story, which is then circulated to all for approval ahead of the agreed launch date. With so many different contact points, it can be quite a task to get everyone on board.
Then we set about tempting the press with offers of exclusive interviews and site visits to capture the atmosphere before the big day. That includes, managing the expectations of TV, radio, vloggers, bloggers and published press, as well as photographers and videographers, all with the end goal of achieving fantastic blanket coverage to drive ticket sales.
Our press assets are then repurposed for use across Splendour’s social media channels, as well as being shared on partner websites, including co-promoter Nottingham City Council.
We’ve been working with Splendour, organised DHP Family promoting the festival for almost a decade and numbers continue to increase so our message continues to deliver.
