Public consultation campaign for E.ON
Listening to the locals: High Marnham power station
Power stations are major bits of kit. They tend to dominate the landscape for miles around. E.ON’s High Marnham power station in north Nottinghamshire was one of two power station sites nationally under review for replacement with new generating technology. We were selected by E.ON’s communications team to develop and deliver a public consultation campaign, including stakeholder mapping and public meetings, as well as media and influencer briefings. We adopted a ‘hands-on’ approach, spending time in the local community to understand which communication channels different interest groups accessed. We also facilitated briefings with local MPs, council and parish councillors, as well as setting up a pop-up information centre in an empty shop unit. Our creative team developed on-brand pop-ups exhibition displays, as well as newsletters explaining the details of the proposals for the site.
