Royal Armouries go the Movies
Promoting world famous WETA Workshops exhibition
The Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds hosted an exhibition of the weapons and armour from some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of recent years including The Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The free exhibition ‘From Narnia to Middle-earth: Arms and Armour from the Movies’ featured some of the most iconic props from the films including Aragorn’s sword, Legolas’s back rig, Sauron’s helmet and one of the plane mounted guns that killed King Kong.
We worked with the Head of Marketing to deliver a compelling media relations campaign that included media stunts, such as sending Orks on the train to York to raise awareness of the event. The results included national, regional and local broadcast, online and print profile, as well as vlogs and blogs.
