2017 was declared the year of video! In fact, we can guarantee that if you open Facebook or Twitter now you’ll be greeted with a video. Shareable video content can be extremely influencial on your brand/product, but how easy is it to create one that will spread like wildfire?

According to social video creation platform Wochit, creating really good shareable video content can be tough. In fact, they cite that just 1.2% of social videos on Facebook get over a million shares. Yikes. So, how do you increase your chances of creating a video that gets more attention?

We have managed multiple video projects for our clientes across various sectors. As well as Wochit’s facts, here are our key tips to creating shareable video content:

1. News content spreads
Videos containing news content are shared twice as often as entertainment content. And notably, tech content videos are at the very bottom of the pile.

2. Keep it short
A majority of videos (83%) are between 30 to 90 seconds. Also, it’s videos running between 60 to 90 seconds that get the most views.

3. Caption it
We’re all busy bodies and often utilise digital content whilst on the move. And because of that not everyone listens to videos with sound, so it’s important to add narrative captions and keep them short.

4. Do it right
Wochit’s statistics prove that it isn’t easy to make videos that will go viral. So, if you’re going to spend time, effort and money on the production you had better ask the experts.
