How we extract reputation to build profile

When the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) marked its centenary in 2017 we were already part of the picture, having started work in 2016 cementing IQ’s reputation in its target media.

Quarry Management Journal (QMJ) is the sector’s go-to title for news and views on quarrying and minerals extraction. When we first came onboard IQ’s presence comprised a classified style section at the back of the magazine. We wanted to elevate how the membership body was perceived, so we set about working QMJ’s editorial team to negotiate a range of regular content with which members could relate and non-members would value.

We research and write regular editorials, including penning the ‘President’s Column’ for the IQ”s president, working with IQ’s branch members to generate content for branch blogs, as well as detailed editorials comprising industry statistics, trends and case studies.

But our remit is much wider than just QMJ. In the first six months of 2018 we have generated 58 pieces of editorial coverage across a range of press – from broadcast to online, published to blogs.
