Content Curation for Hillhead

How we supported the Institute of Quarrying’s (IQ) digital marketing campaign with content curation to raise awareness of their presence at Hillhead.

Hillhead, the biggest quarrying exhibition in the world, is back. Armed with sunscreen, sun hats and sunglasses, we were on hand with our skills to help the IQ with media relations, photography, content curation, and video editing.

What we delivered

We worked closely with the IQ marketing team in the months leading up to Hillhead. One of our main roles in advance of the exhibition was producing compelling content for inclusion within the Hillhead Show Guide, as well as the e-newsletter schedule. The key objective was to drive awareness of the IQ’s presence at the show and encourage footfall to its stand.

The unreliable British weather blessed us with glorious sunshine. Gimbal in hand, we clocked up more than 15,000 steps wandering around the Derbyshire quarry capturing both video footage and photographs. We also arranged for several journalists from key media titles to visit the IQ stand for meet and greets throughout the event.

One of the key challenges we faced was editing together video footage that had been recorded at Hillhead. The IQ required an edited version of a Q&A ready for publishing on social media on the same day in order to tie in with International Women in Engineering Day celebrations.

Thanks to our expertise, and despite the challenges of Wi-Fi signal (we were in a quarry after all), our talented digital team who were back at our office seamlessly edited together video content well in advance of the tight deadline, much to our client’s delight.

“We highly appreciated Redbrick’s quick turnaround on video footage and editing.” – Isaac Azim, IQ Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager.
