Season Opening Press Call

Delivering a well-attended press event for Belvoir Castle, despite freezing temperatures and road closures

One of our many talents is achieving exceptional press coverage for clients, thanks to our developed relationships with the media.

So when we held a press call to mark the season opening of Belvoir Castle’s year ahead, despite the freezing temperatures and road closures, we were able to get journalists from regional print, TV and radio, as well as photo agencies from national titles, along for a great press event.

What we delivered

Season openings are a chance to drum up interest for the upcoming year and showcase to potential visitors what is on offer. This year is a unique one for Belvoir, as it is displaying the Coronation robes worn by previous Dukes of Rutland to ceremonies of the past. Pretty awesome, right?

We only had a matter of weeks to organise our press call, which meant all hands on deck to ensure a smooth running event.

Working with the marketing team at Belvoir Castle, we identified unique photo opportunities, as well as interviewees and secured press attendance.

Despite the unseasonal snow, the day was a success. We were able to offer interviews with Her Grace, The Duchess of Rutland, and Belvoir’s resident historian, as well as give the press a sneak preview of the Coronation robes before they went onto public view.

What we achieved

30+ pieces of achieved coverage across TV, radio, online and print, including The Telegraph, BBC East Midlands Today and BBC News online.

What’s more, our proactive programme of media and influencer visits to explore the castle and its gardens, as well as see the Coronation robes, ensures there are frequent media mentions and content updates on social media throughout the year.
